Hello friends, it’s Gianna Badot! As a coach, certified hypnotherapist, and meditation teacher, I’m especially passionate about mindfulness—and today, I want to share with you the top two ways that you can become more mindful in your daily life. Trust me, these strategies have changed my life, my relationships, and my work, and I know they’ll do the same for you.
Why Mindfulness Matters
Mindfulness is more than just a buzzword. It’s an ancient practice rooted in Buddhist psychology, something I’ve been fortunate to study deeply—including time spent learning directly from Buddhist lamas in the Himalayan mountains. At its core, mindfulness is about being fully present in the moment, tuning in to what’s happening around you and within yourself.
When you become truly mindful, your whole world changes: Your stress drops, your relationships deepen, your creativity skyrockets, and yes, even your ability to attract abundance and new opportunities increases. It’s the foundation for a happier, more successful, and more fulfilling life.
The Modern World vs. Mindfulness
Let’s be honest: Being present is hard! In our non-stop world, especially if you’re juggling roles as an entrepreneur, parent, or even just a human being, distractions come at you from all directions. News, social media, endless to-do lists—the noise never seems to end.
One of my biggest tips? Turn off the news. If something truly urgent happens, you’ll find out. The news often only steals your focus and lowers your energy. And, if you can, reduce the time you spend scrolling social media—unless it’s content that uplifts and empowers you (like this blog!). Above all, live your life outside of the screen, because life happens in the here and now.
The Number One Reason You Can’t Be Present
Let’s get real: Most of us are stuck in the past or worrying about the future, rarely ever living in the present. That’s why life seems to slip by so quickly. Here’s a simple mantra I use to bring myself back to this moment: “I am here.” Repeat it whenever you catch your mind wandering—you’ll be surprised at the powerful shift it brings.
Two Powerful Ways to Cultivate Mindfulness
Let me share the exact practices that helped me transform from a stressed, anxious person to someone who is grounded, present, and thriving:
1. Set Mindfulness Alarms
When I first began my mindfulness journey, I knew I needed frequent reminders to come back to the present. So I set gentle alarms on my phone—every hour! It sounds excessive, but trust me, we get lost in thought so easily. Choose a soft tone or vibration, something soothing, and whenever the alarm goes off, pause for a few seconds. Notice your breath, your surroundings, and how your body feels.
If you have more time, go for five minutes. But even a quick pause brings awareness and clarity back into your day. (Tip: Let the alarms snooze at night so your sleep isn’t interrupted!)
2. Start Identifying as a Mindful Person
We live in a culture that glorifies being busy and stressed. It’s almost trendy to say, “I’m so stressed! I have so much to do!” But I encourage you to let that identity go. Instead, start telling yourself—and others—“I am present. I am working on being mindful.” Visualize yourself as a calm, grounded person. The more you align with this identity, the more it becomes your reality.
I personally use self-hypnosis and visualization before bed to reinforce this identity. If you’d like help, check out the Rewired app I’ve created, linked below, with audios designed to reprogram your subconscious and cultivate mindfulness.
How Mindfulness Transformed My Life
Looking back on my own journey, I am so grateful for these practices. Being mindful has allowed me to be truly present with my one-year-old daughter, my husband, and my family. That kind of presence is the greatest gift I can give them—and myself. When you’re truly “here,” the people around you feel it. Relationships deepen, joy expands, and life becomes so much richer.
Ready to Change Your Life?
Mindfulness isn’t something you master overnight. It’s a daily practice, and the more you come back to it, the easier it gets. Try setting up your first phone alarm and see what happens. Or, tonight, visualize yourself as that calm, present person you want to become. And remember: “I am here.”
Thank you for letting me share this space and these tools with you. Mindfulness has changed my life—and I know it can change yours, too.
With love and presence,
