Welcome back to my blog! Today, I want to talk about a transformational concept that has changed my life—and helped my Hello, beautiful souls! I’m Gianna Badot, and today, I’m excited to share my journey and insights into what it really means to become the awakened version of yourself. As a certified hypnotherapist, holistic coach, and meditation teacher, I’ve spent years helping others (and myself!) move beyond autopilot living and into a life full of presence, joy, and abundance. What Does It Mean to Be “Awakened”?
For many years, I thought “awakening” was this elusive spiritual state — reserved for gurus on mountaintops. But becoming your awakened self isn’t about perfection or enlightenment. It’s about being present and aware in your own life.
The awakened version of yourself is intentional. You’re not just doing what you’ve been told or running on past programming. Instead, you’re tuning in to what’s truly aligned with your spirit and soul. This means:
- Living consciously instead of on autopilot
- Breaking free from unconscious cycles that no longer serve you
- Creating your reality based on what you desire, not outside judgments
Why Is Awakening So Important?
Most people today exist in a “dreamlike state.” They go through life asleep, chasing tasks, and rarely pausing to check in with their true self. When you shift into awakening, you open up to more:
- Peace and harmony
- Fulfillment in every moment
- Deep inner healing
Being present isn’t easy — it’s the hardest work you’ll ever do. But, as I’ve discovered (and share in every episode of the Awakened Self podcast!), once you begin, there’s no turning back. You start to experience life deeply, genuinely, and whole-heartedly.
The First Step: Choose to Wake Up
The journey begins with a choice. You have to decide to be present and let go of anger, resentment, guilt, and attachment to the past or worries about the future. Ask yourself:
- Where are my blind spots?
- What unconscious blockages are holding me back?
- What does my inner reality truly look like right now?
Growth always starts within. When you choose to awaken, you start peeling back the layers of old patterns and beliefs — many of which were formed in childhood, and you had no hand in creating.
Awakening Tools: Meditation, Hypnotherapy, and More
If you listen to my podcast, you know I’m passionate about subconscious healing. Meditation, self-hypnosis, and daily self-reflection are all essential, but true transformation requires going deeper.
Think of these practices as tools on your belt — but the subconscious work is the belt itself. Unless you’re consciously healing and reprogramming your subconscious, other self-care techniques only skim the surface.

You become the guardian of your energy, noticing when negative influences enter, and taking steps to cleanse and reset.

When you commit to this journey, everything changes. You feel lighter, more whole, and more excited every day. Even the mundane parts of life become gifts and opportunities. You finally start to align with who you truly are — beneath all the layers built up over years.
