Have you ever had the feeling that life is just passing you by? You wake up, go through the motions, tick off your to-dos, and before you know it, another day is gone. I know I have, and in the most recent episode of my podcast, “You’ve Been Asleep: The Call to Remember Who You Are,” I channeled an important message that’s been coming through for me—one I believe you were meant to hear right now.
The Real Reason We’re Here
Let’s be real: life can feel overwhelming with its endless distractions—social media, drama, old traumas, and the constant noise of the world around us. So many of us find ourselves living in what I call a “dreamlike state.” We’re not present. We’re on autopilot. But friend, this isn’t what we’re here for.
Our true purpose in life is to awaken—to shake ourselves out of that sleep and become deeply present in our lives. It’s not just about being happy all the time (that’s impossible!), but about showing up authentically for every emotion, every experience, every challenge. The challenges you’re running from? They’re meant to shape and teach you.
Why Presence Changes Everything
Being present can sound simple, but it’s the bravest, most transformative thing you can do. Stillness is where we tap into our deepest self, what I call coming home to your spirit, your soul, your core truth. When you eliminate the distractions and dare to sit with yourself, even for five minutes a day, you begin to rewire your subconscious and align with who you really are.
Here’s something I want you to remember: everyone has five minutes. No matter how busy life gets, carving out that stillness will change your relationship to your work, your loved ones, and yourself. In those small moments of presence, you reclaim your life from autopilot and begin to live intentionally.
Action Steps to Wake Up Now
Here’s how I invite you to begin:
- Dedicate five minutes a day to pure stillness—no phone, no distractions, just you.
- Tune in to your body and senses: notice each step, each breath, and the feel of the air around you.
- Ask yourself, “What am I running from? What am I not allowing myself to see or feel? ”
- Don’t judge whatever comes up—just allow it.
With time, those five minutes might turn into ten or even become a regular daily practice that shifts the energy of your entire day.
