The end of the year is such a powerful moment to pause and reflect. As a certified hypnotherapist, one-on-one coach, and meditation teacher, I know how vital it is to do an “inner inventory.” Let’s talk about how you can gracefully let go of what doesn’t serve you and step boldly into your next-level self in 2026.
Release, Celebrate, and Reimagine: Preparing for 2026
As we approach a new year, many of us are tempted to focus on goals or resolutions—but I encourage you to dig much deeper. Instead of obsessing over all the things you “need” to change (which can actually make you feel worse about yourself!), this is a time to celebrate what went well, honor the parts of you that thrived, and consciously decide what gets left behind with the old year.
One of my favorite practices is the Let Go List. It’s simple yet powerful:
- Grab a blank sheet of paper and write “I Release…” at the top.
- List every belief, habit, experience, or aspect of 2025 you’re ready to let go of.
- When your list is done—whether it has 5 or 100 items—rip it up or burn it (safely!). This ritual helps energetically cleanse your space and sends a signal to your subconscious that you’re truly ready for a new chapter.
If you love energetic tools, try cleansing your space with sage or palo santo while you do this release. It makes the experience feel even lighter and more intentional.
Envisioning Your 2026 Self: The Secret to True Change
Once you’ve released what you no longer need, it’s time to get crystal clear about who you want to become in 2026. This isn’t about setting a long list of resolutions—it’s about connecting with your future self at a deep, subconscious level.
Take at least 30 minutes with a journal and answer these questions:
- What does the 2026 version of me look and feel like?
- What energy do I radiate?
- What are my habits, relationships, and hobbies?
- What am I no longer doing? What fills me with joy and purpose?
Think of this as writing a character for a script—your script! The more detail you include, the clearer your subconscious mind becomes about the direction you’re heading.
I highly recommend combining this vision work with self-hypnosis or deep meditation. When you’re deeply relaxed, your subconscious is most open to new ideas. Guided meditations or hypnosis sessions (like my Rewired Meditations referenced in the show notes) are an incredible way to actually begin embodying the new version of you—fast.
Why Focus on Who You’re Becoming (Not Just What You Want)
Setting traditional goals isn’t wrong, but without a clear inner vision, you risk walking into the future blind. Instead, focus on:
- The feeling you want to embody when you reach your goals
- The day-to-day energy of your future self
- The inner qualities and strengths you’re cultivating
When you shift your self-image at a subconscious level, your habits and results follow. This is how true, sustainable change happens.

Wherever you are on your journey, know that you are divinely blessed. Don’t just focus on what’s not working—focus on the good, on gratitude, and on what’s truly possible for you in the new year.
