If you’ve been chanting “I am wealthy” or “I am calm” and not seeing any real change, this episode is for you. Why Affirmations Don’t Work by Themselves

When I say affirmations don’t work, I’m specifically talking about those times when you repeat affirmations in your conscious waking state. Picture this: you’re standing in front of a mirror, repeating “I am wealthy” over and over again, but your bank account remains unchanged. Why? Because your subconscious mind isn’t on board.

Our normal conscious waking state isn’t conducive to new programming. So, while it’s helpful to say positive things out loud if you don’t truly believe them at a subconscious level, nothing changes. Your subconscious mind’s main job is to keep you safe, and often that means keeping you stuck in your comfort zone.

The Role of the Subconscious Mind

If deep down you don’t believe you’re worthy of wealth, love, or any other positive affirmations, then saying those words is just wasting your breath. To start believing these new affirmations at a subconscious level, you’d need to repeat them 500-600 times a day. Seriously, who has that kind of time?

This is where hypnosis works its magic. By getting into a deeply relaxed state, also known as the theta brainwave state, your subconscious mind becomes open to new programming. This makes affirmations incredibly effective.

The Power of Hypnosis

When you’re in a state of hypnosis, you’re super relaxed and focused. Your mind isn’t distracted by what needs to happen later or what happened yesterday. You are present and grounded, making it the perfect time to introduce new affirmations.

For example, if you’re stressed, repeating “I am calm” can feel like a losing battle. Instead, through hypnosis, you can truly relax every muscle and repeat affirmations in a way that your subconscious mind will accept. Phrases like “I am becoming calmer every day” will start to stick because, in that moment, you are calm and grounded.

Why Combining Affirmations with Hypnosis Is Key

Let’s be clear: affirmations aren’t a waste of time. Focusing on positivity is always beneficial. But if you want real, lasting change, you need to get your subconscious mind on board, and that’s easiest during hypnosis.

By combining affirmations with hypnosis, you can make profound changes quickly. Repeating an affirmation five times in self-hypnosis can be more effective than saying it 600-700 times in your normal waking state.
