Hi, I’m Gianna Badot. Welcome to a special blog inspired by one of our most powerful episodes of The Awakened Self Podcast. In this article, I’m diving deep into everything we explored about anxiety: why it exists, how to understand it on the deepest level, and my tried-and-true 4-step framework for rewiring your subconscious so you can truly set yourself free.

Why Anxiety Exists: The Truth Beneath the Surface

Anxiety isn’t just a stream of nagging thoughts—it’s an unconscious pattern fueled by deeper, hidden fears. For so many of us, anxiety operates behind the scenes, impacting our relationships, our self-image, and our everyday lives, even if we don’t realize it. Through my years as a certified hypnotherapist, somatic coach, and meditation teacher, I’ve seen that anxiety is rarely what it seems on the surface.

Growing up, I found myself constantly overthinking. The core belief that ran my life was, “If I imagine the worst, I can prevent it from happening.” Sound familiar? This is a survival mechanism—one I developed to keep myself safe amidst life’s chaos. But as I learned, expressing anxiety in this way is just a protective mechanism rooted in old, unhealed experiences.

The truth is, your anxiety is a signpost pointing toward unconscious fears you haven’t yet addressed.

My 4-Step Framework to Rewire Anxiety from Within

I’ve spent many years perfecting a process that helped me—and now hundreds of my clients—move out of the grip of anxiety and into a state of calm awareness. Here’s a breakdown of my 4-step framework:

1. Identify Your Anxious Thoughts

The first step is simply noticing what the thoughts are. Take time out of your busy day to pause, close your eyes, and ask yourself, “What am I actually anxious about?” If the answers aren’t obvious, keep a notes app or a physical journal at hand to jot down anxious thoughts as they arise over a week (or even two). Awareness is the beginning of transformation.

2. Uncover the Subconscious Fear

Here’s where the deep work begins. Beneath every anxious thought is a subconscious, fear-based belief. You can access it by diving into a quiet, relaxed state—what I call “ground zero” within yourself. This is easiest using meditation or self-hypnosis. Ask yourself: “What am I really afraid of?” It often takes gentleness and practice to hear those quiet, subconscious whispers. If you’re struggling, my Rewired Meditation library can help you gently access those layers.

3. Rewire Your Beliefs

Once you see the underlying fear, you can begin to shift it. What is the opposite feeling or belief you want for yourself? For instance, if you always assume “the worst will happen,” your new belief might be “It’s safe to expect good things.” Getting crystal clear about how you want to feel—and practicing this new thought in a state of relaxation—is essential to rewiring your subconscious mind.

4. Live Into Your Calm Reality

The final step is living in alignment with your new, calm vision. Make visualization your daily ritual: close your eyes and picture yourself as the grounded, peaceful, and connected person you know you can be. The more you return to this vision, the more you teach your subconscious mind that this new way of being is possible. Remember, what you plant in the garden of your subconscious grows into your reality.

Why Subconscious Rewiring Matters

Yoga, meditation, or self-help techniques can be helpful tools, but real, lasting change comes from intentionally shifting your subconscious programming. I know firsthand how frustrating it can be to know your patterns but still feel trapped by them. Hypnotherapy and deep subconscious work are the catalysts that allowed me to finally break free.

You’re Not Alone

If anxiety has been running your life, I want you to know you’re not alone. Our world is more anxious than ever, but you’re absolutely not destined to feel this way forever. Healing is possible, and you’re worthy of it. If you’d like deeper support, check out my Rewired Meditations or reach out to connect about subconscious healing work.
