How to Manage Your Energy During the Holiday Season

As a certified hypnotherapist, holistic coach, and meditation guide, I know firsthand how overwhelming the holiday season can be—not just for your schedule, but for your mind, body, and spirit. Today, I’m diving into the heart of the episode: managing your energy (and everyone else’s!) during this bustling time of year.

Why Energy Management Matters During the Holidays

Whether you’re counting down the days to Thanksgiving, feeling a bit anxious about the family gatherings, or just trying to keep your head above the chaos, it’s essential to honor how you feel about this season. As I discussed on the podcast, there’s no “right” way to experience the holidays. The common thread? A need to be intentional with our energy, especially since we spend more time with others during these months.

Empaths and Holiday Overwhelm

As an empath myself, I understand how quickly you can absorb energy from those around you. Crowded events, heightened emotions, and the general busyness can leave you feeling drained or frazzled. The good news? You can absolutely learn to manage your energy. It starts with recognizing the unique frequency you emit—if you show up grounded and calm, others benefit from that vibe too.

Simple Habits That Ground Your Energy

Let’s talk about wellness routines. It’s SO easy to let healthy habits slide when life gets busy (“I’ll start fresh in the New Year”—we’ve all said it!). But keeping up with practices like hydrating, exercising, and meditating isn’t just about physical health. These are key ways to keep your energy field strong and resilient. Even a simple walk or a few deep breaths can make a huge difference.

If you’re ready to go deeper, I recommend guided meditations or subconscious activations—I’ve created plenty, and they’re available in the Rewired app linked in the show notes. They’ll help you stay present and aware, no matter how hectic things get.

Before, During, and After: Energetic Cleanse Rituals

A powerful technique I shared in this episode is using the violet flame visualization, inspired by St. Germain. Before heading to a gathering, picture this soothing flame filling the roads, the event space, and every participant with calm and loving energy. Set your intention for the day: “I intend to be present,” “I intend to create special memories”—whatever feels true for you.

In the middle of the event, take breaks! Sneak off to the restroom and wash your hands with cold water, or step outside for a deep, intentional breath. Both are easy ways to reset and clear accumulated energy.

Afterwards, try smudging with sage or palo santo to shift your home’s energy back to neutral. Take a long, hot shower with lavender essential oil, visualizing the water washing away any lingering stress or heaviness.

Setting Boundaries: The Holy Grail of Holiday Peace

Here’s a personal truth: I grew up in chaos around the holidays. With divorced parents and a bustling blended family, I had to unlearn old patterns and consciously create my own traditions. Trust me—setting boundaries is not just self-care, it’s essential. Say no to gatherings and commitments that feel draining. Choose joy, ease, and intention.

Reflect on what worked for you as a child and what didn’t. You’re not obligated to repeat family dynamics that no longer serve you. This is the path to breaking cycles and inviting more peace into your celebrations.

No matter how the season unfolds, you have the power to create your own experience. Protect your energy, honor your boundaries, and nourish yourself with whatever practices feel good. Revisit this episode often for a gentle, loving reset.
